Partner on board to save council £18.5m on buying goods and services
In a local government first, Staffordshire County Council has entered into an innovative new partnership with Capita to bolster the way it buys goods and services.

Capita Consulting today announced the appointments of Steve Buley as Business Transformation Director and Sam Cook as a Principal Consultant within its Financial Services practice, which was created in May 2010. These follow the appointments of Tony Tarquini, Aden Lane, Andrew Reader and Nigel Foster, and fortify the practice’s ambitions for the financial services sector.

Steve has a wealth of experience in change management, having run his own change consultancy business for seven years, working within the public and private sectors. He was Transformation Director at the AA and  then Centrica and has a 20-year track record in successfully delivering critical large-scale change programmes and their associated benefits to organisations.

Sam Cook has significant experience in driving operational improvement projects in the financial services sector. He has also led process and operational improvement work in industry and worked globally across the US, UK and France.

Commenting on the appointment, Tony Tarquini, Head of Financial Services at Capita Consulting, said: “Our Financial Services practice is experiencing rapid growth, as clients continue to recognise and require our services. The appointment of these two key experts fortifies and cements our offering as we continue to focus on bringing rigour, consistency and strong results orientation to business improvement and transition programmes.”
